Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES, ACCOUNTABILITY, TASKS AND DUTIES

  • Planning and managing the daily activities of the purchasing, and materials handling (MRP) 
  • Performance of the operation groups within budget
  • Maintenance of inventory levels required to meet customer needs, while avoiding excess carrying costs or purchasing/manufacturing variances
  • Maintenance of parameters governing the function of Expandable
  • MRP II, current GMP, and governing quality system implementation and conformance within the operations area
  • Assist to ensure that manufacturing activities conform to:
  • Good manufacturing practices
  • Safety requirements
  • Documented specifications and procedures
  • Assure that adequate training is provided for all operations personnel, in accordance with their tasks and duties
  • Control movement and activities of buy/sale product
  • Review and sign purchase orders, assuring that requisitions are properly authorized, orders are properly placed, and all required specifications and documentation are provided to subcontractor.
  • Ensure adherence to requirements of vendor management procedure 
  • Review bi-yearly subcontractor performance statistics and reports and ensure that appropriate actions are taken
  • Assist purchasing specialist in:
  • Reviewing MRP planning reports to plan and order items, assuring material availability in accordance with production requirements
  • Expediting deliveries where necessary due to changed requirements or overdue subcontractor commitments

JOB ESSENTIALS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent Supply Chain and Operations experience
  • Effective interpersonal skills to interact with subordinates, peers and management
  • Highly motivated with ability to pay close attention detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent training skills
  • Solid understanding of medical manufacturing and quality systems
  • Ability to effectively operate under and understand an MRP II system

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Five years of management experience with supervisory responsibility of quality personnel
  • Five years experience in a quality assurance setting using auditing skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Computer skills required to manipulate data for analysis
  • Highly motivated with ability to pay close attention to detail

REQUIRED EDUCATION, COMPETENCE, TRAINING AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Education - four years Degree in technical field or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of; FDA Quality System Regulation, ISO Quality System, total quality improvement concepts
